Man o’ man….Billy D is back!
The latest episode of Rebels is here, hear what we have to say about it…
This is only the tenth episode of Rebels and we’ve seen Darth Vader, R2-D2, C-3P0, Yoda and now Lando. This is not to mention a hologram appearance by Obi-Wan Kenobi and a brief appearance from Bail Organa. It’s great the we are getting these familiar faces to help connect us to this new series.
His suave approach and questionable methods were funny throughout and felt in line with the guy we met in Empire. The exciting thing about Lando is that it is feasible to see him in a reoccurring roll. He fits in perfectly with the rebel lifestyle, and the way the episode ends, I leaves plenty of room for this to happen.
On another note, for hardcore Star Wars fans, aside from its brief inclusion in the book A New Dawn, this episode provided some of the first true canon inclusion of the game Sabacc – an element used often in the expanded universe, but now made “official” here for the first time as a part of Star Wars.
This episode was a great standalone adventure and was very entertaining and funny. Billy Dee Williams brought back Lando’s blend of charm and con in a great way, and seeing him interact with the Ghost crew makes us hopeful we’ll see him again in future episodes.
